  • We help to provide sustainable, meaningful & safe employment for women in Nigeria, to bridge inequality, and lift families out of the cycle of poverty!

OUR MISSION

HER Africa Ltd is a not-for profit charitable organisation, established in Melbourne, Australia. Our aim is to assist Nigerians, particularly women and families,  in need to lift them from the cycle of poverty.

In 2020, our Water and Sanitation project in Epe  involved the installation of a dignified public toilet and tap, increasing the  community’s access to safe drinking water and hygienic toilet amenities. Her Africa is proud to have contributed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 - Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.

With your help we can make an impact.

HEALTH & EDUCATION CHALLENGES AND HOW WE PLAN TO HELP

Millions of children in West and Central Africa are still denied access to education.

The region accounts for one-third of the global total of primary school age children and one-fifth of the lower secondary age children who are out of school. Children and adolescents caught up in humanitarian emergencies are especially vulnerable to missing out on opportunities to learn.

In addition to general education access issues, gender equality inequality in education is especially prominent throughout the region. For every ten boys enrolled in primary school, there are only nine girls. These differences amplify as children progress throughout the school system.

The quality of education provided is another important issue. Even students who have completed basic education face a slim chance of high-quality learning. Despite finishing the designed courses, majority of the lucky students are still not equipped with the skills, knowledge, values, and attitudes required for success in the 21st century.

Access to Education

Quality education for all children lies at the heart of social and economic development. HER AFRICA supports countries to improve educational access through inclusive education, expansion of early learning programmes, Koranic education and vocational training.

Quality Learning

When it comes to education, quality is a must if we want to build a better future for the next generation. HER AFRICA and its partners work to improve teaching skills, quality standards, life skills programmes and early learning assessments.

Girls’ Education

Educated girls are vital for the health and prosperity of families, communities and countries. HER AFRICA helps to develop and implement programmes that support girls’ achievements in and through education

HER AFRICA works in Nigeria to help the most vulnerable children, including providing access to quality health services, food, water and education, and to ensure that they grow up protected from violence and exploitation, from wherever they are and wherever they live.

HER AFRICA supports young people to access quality education, gain life skills, receive proper nutrition and encourage them to participate actively in their future and the future of their communities. Working with adolescents today means that there is greater chance of breaking generational cycles of deprivation and harmful practices, including child marriage
